Downgrade or remove bin

Downgrade or removal of bin(s)

The downgrade or remove bins form is used to request the downgrade or removal of an additional or upgraded red or yellow bin, or the removal of a garden organics (green bin) service. Fees may apply.

A downgrade is when an upgraded bin service is downgraded to a standard service. For example, if you have an upgraded 360 litre recycling bin, you can downgrade it to the standard 240 litre recycling bin.

A removal is when an additional or upgraded bin service is no longer required. For example, if you have a standard bin and an additional bin of the same type, you can request the removal of the additional bin. The garden organics (green bin) service can also be removed if it is no longer required. As this type of bin only comes in one size, it cannot be downgraded.

A bin downgrade or removal request will be actioned within 5 working days from the approval of this form.

Important: The bin to be downgraded or removed must be placed on the kerb by 7am on the day after you submit this form and left on the kerb until the request is complete. Our contractor is not allowed to cross the property boundary line and retrieve the bin from your carport, garage, behind gates or fences or any other area of your property.

Please Note: A pro-rata amount will be payable for additional waste services upon the downgrade or removal of this service. For more information on fees and charges please see ACT NoWaste Fees and Charges

For a multi-unit development (MUD) with shared waste services please use the MUD additional service request form. Fees may apply. This must be done by the managing strata, body corporate, owner corporation or developer of the new multi-unit development.
