Additional or upgraded bin(s)

Additional or upgraded bin(s)

The upgrade your bins form is used to request an additional or upgraded red or yellow bin, or a 240 litre garden organics bin (green bin).

Additional or upgraded waste and recycling services are invoiced every July for the financial year. See the fees and charges section of the Forms and fees page for more information.

The standard bin allocation for a residence is a 140 litre garbage bin (wheelie bin with a red lid) and a 240 litre recycling bin (wheelie bin with a yellow lid).

An additional bin is one that is additional to the standard allocation. For example, you can request an additional garbage or recycling bin of the same size as the standard allocation.

An upgraded bin is one that is larger in size than the standard allocation. For example, the standard 140 litre garbage bin may be upgraded to a 240 litre garbage bin, or the standard 240 litre recycling bin may be upgraded to a 360 litre recycling bin. In this case, the standard bin will be replaced with the upgraded bin.

Residents are entitled to a maximum of 3 additional bins (i.e. the standard allocation plus up to three additional bins).

Garden organics (green bins) only come in the 240 litre size and cannot be upgraded. Additional garden organics (green bins) are currently not available.

The additional and/or upgraded bins will be delivered within 5 working days from the approval of this form.

Important: The bin to be upgraded must be placed on the kerb by 7am on the day after you submit this form and left on the kerb until the request is complete. Our contractor is not allowed to cross the property boundary line and retrieve the bin from your carport, garage, behind gates or fences or any other area of your property.

For a multi-unit development with shared waste services: additional or upgraded garbage/recycling bins (wheelie bins or hoppers) or services can be requested via the request new bins form. Fees may apply.
